Del Polvo Vienesbasiert auf dem Erscheinungsbild moderner Hochhäuser mit verspiegelten Scheiben, die verschmelzen, sich verbiegen und in komplexe Schichten aufbrechen. Die spiegelnde Substanz der Außenfassade setzt sich in der Struktur fort und die tragende innere Struktur wird sichtbar, während Teile der Substanz eine organische Form annehmen, die aus dem starren Muster herausragt. Die Struktur löst sich auf. Was zuvor als neoliberales Machtsymbol galt, das einen erheblichen Einschnitt in seine Umgebung zu ermöglichen vermochte, wird in eine neue, unbestimmbare Form überführt.
Del Polvo Vienes is based on the appearance of modern highrise buildings with mirrored panes, which melt, bend and break up into complex layers. The reflecting substance of the outer facade continues within the structure and the supporting inner structure becomes visible, while parts of the substance take on an organic form that protrudes from the rigid pattern. The structure dissolves. What was previously considered a neoliberal symbol of power with the ability to facilitate considerable incision in its surroundings is transformed into a new indeterminable form.
In meiner Arbeit beschäftige ich mich mit der Überschneidung von synthetischen und organischen Strukturen. Oft versuche ich, künstliche Materialien wieder in organische Formen zu bringen oder natürliche Materialien in künstliche Strukturen zu integrieren. Mich interessiert eine Rezeptionsästhetik, die komplex ist und zwischen künstlicher Produktion und natürlichen Prozessen, Mikro- und Makroebene, Dauer und Verfall oszilliert.
In my work, I am concerned with the overlap of synthetic and organic structures. I often try to return artificial materials to organic forms or to integrate natural materials into artificial structures. I am interested in creating an aesthetics of reception that is complex and oscillates between artificial production and natural processes, micro and macro levels, permanence and
decay.
